With New York Fashion Week behind us, the Pantone Color Institute has weighed in on the 10 shades that will be prevalent across fashion and décor for spring 2017.
It failed to sell! The lead item, the 27 carat oval diamond in Sotheby’s sale last Thursday failed to sell! Why? I think the $2.5 estimate was just too high. By my calculations 67 lots out of 220 lots listed failed to sell. Either the estimates were too high or the reserves were too high. Yikes! That means a 1/4 of the sale failed to sell.
Sotheby’s New York kicks off its fall auction season with a sale led by a 27.35 carat diamond that’s expected to sell for up to $2.5 million. The oval shaped D color, VS2 clarity diamond leads the auction house’s Important Jewels sale, which is coming up today, Thursday, September 22.
