Suzani. Named after the persian word for needle, suzanis were traditionally made for a woman's dowry. With their intricate patterns and fine detail, they can take up to two and a half years to complete. These vintage pieces are from Uzbekistan. One measures 4'10" x 10' 10" and the other measures 6'7" x 7"3". The longer suzani (4'10" x 10'10") shows a little damage. The shorter *suzani (6'7" x 7'3") is in good condition and exhibits bright, popping colors. Either would be perfect for furniture reupholstering, pillows, a bedcovering, draped over furniture or a wall hanging. A perfect tactile textile.
